Avo Photonics (www.avophotonics.com) is a dynamic contract engineering services company that designs, develops, and manufactures custom opto-electronic products for a large customer base. Members of our staff can design, prototype, and produce next generation products for a diverse range of markets including environmental, medical, military, industrial, aerospace, and communications.
We seek a diligent, dedicated, and meticulous Manufacturing Planner who will help to further our success and reputation in the industry through world-class customer service. The successful candidate must plan his/her own work schedule, keep multiple records, be self-motivated, maintain a professional presence, and have the desire to take ownership of projects.
Specifically:
Direct and supervise the receipt of incoming deliveries, including verifying quantities, inspecting for damages, and confirming accuracy against packing slips
Communicate with the Procurement team to resolve discrepancies or issues at incoming
Supervise Warehouse Associates to ensure timely receipt and processing of materials
Coordinate job assignments and cross-training with Shipping Supervisor
Inspect and maintain warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, lifts, and basic tools. Report any malfunctions, insufficiencies, or necessary repairs to the manager
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to OSHA safety regulations
Participate in physical inventory at the end of each half-year
Requirements:
High school diploma or A.S.
5 years experience in a warehouse position
Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques
Proficiency in computer and data entry systems
Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training and operate machinery safely according to company protocol.
Outstanding verbal and written English communication skills
